Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Greece Public Library is a volunteer group that raises money and lends a hand wherever the library budget can't stretch. Members helped push for the main library off Long Pond Road while it was being planned, and they still pay for programs for kids and adults today.
What the Friends do
- Run Secondhand Prose, the used bookstore inside the library
- Hold larger used-book sales during the year
- Sponsor educational programs for children and adults
- Put out a members' newsletter
- Help spread the word about library services
Members meet once a year, each October. A volunteer board meets monthly, and committees meet as needed.
Secondhand Prose bookstore
Paperbacks, hardcovers, kids' books and the occasional treasure, all at used-book prices. Every sale goes back into the library.

Bookstore hours as posted by the Friends in 2026. Volunteer-run hours can shift, so check before a special trip.
