WHERE IS THE LIBRARY LOCATED?

The Greece Public Library is located off Long Pond Rd, just a ½ mile north of Latta Rd (Rt. 18) on the Town of Greece campus. Click here for map.

HOW DO I GET A LIBRARY CARD

You are invited to apply for a card at any public library of the Monroe County Library System. Please bring at least one of the following forms of identification:

  • NYS Driver License with current address: changed address may be written in on the back of the license
  • NYS Non-Driver’s ID card with current address
  • NYS Learner’s Permit with current address
  • School ID for current year with current address
  • Current utility bill
  • Current bank statement
  • Checkbook with current address preprinted
  • Property tax statement
  • Current mail (postmarked within 30 days) – no “junk” mail accepted
  • Voter’s registration card with current address
  • Automobile registration with current address

A parent or legal guardian must also provide valid identification to register children between the ages of 5-15 for a library card.


HOW LONG CAN I CHECK OUT BOOKS AND OTHER MATERIALS?

Books may be checked out for 3 weeks and DVDs/VHS for 1 week. We also have an “Express” collection of new books (1 week loan) and DVDs (2 day loan).

IS THERE AN E-MAIL SERVICE FOR LETTING ME KNOW WHEN MY BOOKS ARE DUE AND WHEN MY HOLDS ARE IN?

Yes, never have a late book again! If you have a current library card, you can sign up to receive e-mail notification by clicking here. Your e-mail address can also be added to your account information, when you register for a new card.


HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR LIBRARY PROGRAMS?

You may register online here, by telephone (225-8951) or in person at the library.


DOES THE LIBRARY PROVIDE FREE INTERNET ACCESS?

Yes, all of the library’s computer services including hi-speed internet access, Microsoft Office applications and wireless Internet are FREE! Black & white printing is available from any of the public computers for either $.25/page(black & white) or $1.00/page(color).


HOW BIG IS THE AQUARIUM?

The Greece Public Library's aquarium is 20 feet long, 4 feet high, and 2 feet wide. The aquarium consists of 1,200 gallons of heated freshwater, which is inhabited mainly by South American community fish.
